Programs and Opportunites

Christian Education:  Classes for children begin every Sunday morning at 9:30.

Narcotics Anonymous:  A global, community-based organization with a multi-lingual and multicultural membership. We offer recovery from the effects of addiction through working a twelve-step program, including regular attendance at group meetings. The group atmosphere provides help from peers and offers an ongoing support network for addicts who wish to pursue and maintain a drug-free lifestyle. Our name, Narcotics Anonymous, is not meant to imply a focus on any particular drug; NA’s approach makes no distinction between drugs including alcohol. Membership is free, and we have no affiliation with any organizations outside of NA including governments, religions, law enforcement groups, or medical and psychiatric associations.

United Methodist Women:  This woman centered group is centered upon supporting mission work locally, throughout the country, and across the world.  All women of the Church are invited.

F.A.N. – Families Against Narcotics:  Our church hosts this chapter of the Oakland/Livingston Families Against Narcotics. Designed to incorporate communication and cooperation on all levels of dealing with drug addiction and useage. Local courts, clergy, nurses, therapists, law enforcement, pharmacists, educators, administrators and rehabilitation centers work together to help drug users and their families find successful ways to beat addiction and help drug users build a successful life.  Meets the 3rd Thursday of each month from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., offering community forums, educational events, testimonials from former addicts and seminars .  Absolutely free, discreet and supportive.

TOPS:  (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) is the short name for TOPS Club, Inc., the original nonprofit, noncommercial network of weight-loss support groups and wellness education organization. TOPS offers tools and programs for healthy living and weight management, with exceptional group fellowship and recognition. Weekly meetings include private weigh-ins and professionally prepared, informational chapter programs, featuring up-to-date information on nutrition, exercise and healthy lifestyles. Programs provide positive reinforcement and motivation to adhere to food and exercise programs. Please join us on Thursday mornings at 9:30am

Active Faith Ministries:  Our church is heavily involved with Active Faith Ministries of South Lyon, to help the financially disadvantaged of our community. Through special offerings, food drives, clothing drives and school backpack donations, those in need receive the support they need.

Boy Scouts of America:  Troop 103 meets on Tuesday evening at 6:30pm and Pack 103 meets Wednesday evening at 6pm. This is the traditional Scouting experience for young men in first grade through high school. Service, community engagement, and leadership development become increasingly important parts of the program as youth lead their own activities and work their way toward earning Scouting’s highest rank, Eagle Scout. While there is guidance from experienced leaders, Boy Scouts take their own lead, exploring places they’ve never been as they dive into the rugged world of outdoor adventure. With a spirit of teamwork, they pack up their Scout gear and their sense of adventure, and dive into the learning and excitement that comes from being in the brotherhood of the Boy Scouts. Come join us!

West Oakland Camera Club:  The main purpose of this club is to advance the photographic abilities of our member by sharing knowledge and techniques. Our meetings are always open to the public and we hope you will join us. We meet twice a month at 7:30pm on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month.

United Methodist Children’s Home:  Located in Reford, this home setting meets the needs of children without a home or parents. Our church offers ways in which you can help support these kids in need.

Christian Camping:  Our church offers your children, and your adults, dozens and dozens of opportunities to enjoy camping events throughout Michigan.  United Methodist camps offer your family the chance to get closer to nature and to God. We also offer scholarships to help pay all or part of the cost of your child’s camping experience!

Committee Participation:  There is something for everyone here at our church. Everything from building care to financial guidance to Christian Education to administrative support and much, much more. Our church lets you decide where you’d like to use your talents.
