The Apostle Paul has said, “Now abide faith, hope, love, these three; and the greatest of these is love”.
The greatest — even the most powerful — expression of being human is when we become people who love. Some may say compassion, or charity, or grace are of more importance, but all these things, and indeed every expression of care, are the products of love. And the biggest waste of life is when we give ourselves to that which sets its negative face against love. Each time we give ourselves to things negative, we destroy another small part of ourselves that could have been offered in love. Love is CONstructive, anger and hate and jealousy and self interest are DEstructive.
I believe it is better not to live than not to love. Love alone makes us fully human, opens us to the sacredness within all people and in all things. To deny love is to deny life. Love is not something we do, it’s what we become. When we decide — and it’s a decision we make — to love others the way Christ loved way back then and still loves today, we become like Christ.
Just a few brain droppings.
