Remember Ebola? Remember all the fear-mongering and panic? There was constant 24 hr. news reporting, scandals that we were letting caregivers from Africa back into our country, and calls to close the borders to anyone coming from infected countries. There were cries for an “Ebola Czar”, and political posturing abounded.

Did you know that Ebola killed fewer people in this country than a few candy apples did during the same time period? And did you know this — that FAR MORE YOUNG PEOPLE IN THE SOUTH LYON AREA DIED FROM HEROIN OVERDOSES? Where’s the pubic cry about this epidemic? Where’s the outrage that our young are being buried before our eyes from this scourge? This is the epidemic we should be in a panic about.

And we should be ashamed that we’re not.
